Located in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the Municipal Building combines city hall and fire station functions within a striking example of Prairie School architecture designed by Claude and Starck and completed in 1923. Constructed of brick with amber-colored facade elements and white terra cotta ornamentation, the building showcases characteristic Prairie School detailing in its interior oak moldings and plaster decoration. The structure also houses the Grantland Theatre, a single-screen movie venue and community performance space. Recognized for its architectural significance, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and appears on the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places.
