Known as Maison Guiette or Les Peupliers, this single-family home in Antwerp, Belgium, was designed by Le Corbusier in 1926 and completed in 1927. Built as the studio and living quarters of painter and art critic René Guiette, the house was conceived as an evolution of Le Corbusier's 1925 Pavilion de l'Esprit Nouveau. An early exemplar of the International Style, it represents one of the Franco-Swiss architect's lesser-known achievements. The dwelling became a lasting source of artistic inspiration for Guiette, who documented it through gouache paintings and experimental photography throughout his life. The house was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2016 and is protected as a monument in Belgium.
