Liechtenstein Castle (Burg Liechtenstein) stands near Maria Enzersdorf in Lower Austria, on the edge of the Wienerwald (Vienna Woods) and bordering Vienna. It is the ancestral seat and place of origin of the House of Liechtenstein, the ruling family of the Principality of Liechtenstein. The family owned it from the mid-12th century until the 13th century, and again from 1808 onward. The castle was built in 1136 and now operates as a museum.
