Lit Brothers was a moderately priced department store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, opened by Samuel and Jacob Lit at Market and North 8th streets in 1891. Positioned as an affordable alternative to upscale rivals such as Strawbridge and Clothier, John Wanamaker, and Gimbels, it was known for its millinery department. The store building, a Colonial Revival design, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and lies within the East Center City Commercial Historic District.
