The Loggia dei Lanzi, also called the Loggia della Signoria, stands on the south corner of the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy, adjoining the Uffizi Gallery. Its three very high and wide arches open onto the piazza and rest on cluster columns with Corinthian capitals. The arches appealed so much to the Florentines that Michelangelo proposed continuing them around the whole square.
