The Louisville, Henderson, and St. Louis Railroad Depot in Fordsville, Kentucky, completed in 1916, exemplifies Prairie School architecture in modest railway station form. Constructed of concrete block with a tile roof, the long, low structure exhibits the horizontal emphasis and material honesty characteristic of the style. Situated on the southeastern side of Walnut Street, 200 feet north of Kentucky Route 54, the building served the regional railroad network and was recognized for its architectural significance when listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
