Built between 1970 and 1972 in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, the Louvain-la-Neuve Cyclotron is a brutalist complex designed by architect Roger Bastin for the University of Louvain. It was the first building completed by the university following its relocation after the Leuven crisis and housed Europe's largest cyclotron at the time of its construction. Beyond its particle accelerators—two CYCLONE machines operated by the Cyclotron Research Center—the complex accommodates the Schools of Mathematics and Physics, their research institutes, the Centre for Applied Molecular Technologies, the university's radiation protection service, a business incubator, and shared workspace facilities.
