The Convento de Madre de Deus is a former convent and church located in Lisbon's Penha de França district, founded in 1509. Built across the Manueline, Mannerist, and Baroque periods, the structure exemplifies the architectural evolution of Portuguese religious design, blending Neo-Manueline ornamentation with baroque elements. Today it serves as the National Museum of the Azulejo, housing a significant collection dedicated to Portuguese tile work, and is designated a National Monument of Portugal.
