The Madrid Central Mosque, located in the Cuatro Caminos neighborhood of Madrid's Tetuán district, was completed in 1988 as a congregational mosque serving the city's Muslim community. Built in the Islamic architectural tradition, the structure acquired the popular nickname "Strait Mosque" during construction due to its proximity to the nearby Estrecho metro station, whose name references the Strait of Gibraltar.
