The Maison du Peuple was a public building on the Place Emile Vandervelde in the Sablon/Zavel district of Brussels, Belgium, designed by Victor Horta in the Art Nouveau style for the Belgian Workers' Party. Built between 1896 and 1899 and opened on 2 April 1899, it was one of the most influential Art Nouveau buildings in Belgium. It was demolished in 1965 and replaced by the Blaton Tower, an office block whose demolition has been regarded as an "architectural crime."
