The Manial Palace and Museum is a former royal residence on Rhoda Island in the Nile, in the El-Manial district of southern Cairo, Egypt. Its five distinctly styled buildings blend Fatimid, Mamluk, Ottoman, Andalusian, Persian and Levantine influences, set within Persian gardens and an English landscape park. Prince Mohamed Ali, son of Tewfik Pasha, chose the site and oversaw the design, with construction by master builder Mohamed Afifi. As he instructed, the palace became a museum after his death.
