The Arch of the Philaeni, popularly called the Marble Arch, was a Neoclassical triumphal arch built in 1937 by Fascist Italy on the border between the former colonies of Tripolitania and Cyrenaica in Libya. Designed by Florestano Di Fausto, it celebrated their unification and the completion of the Litoranea, the first road linking east and west Libya, which passed beneath its centre. Its bronze statues of the Carthaginian Philaeni brothers were promoted as an example of Fascist virtue. Muammar Gaddafi demolished it in the early 1970s.
