The Marr Residence, located in Saskatoon's Nutana neighbourhood, is a Second Empire–style house built in 1884 for stonemason Alexander "Sandy" Marr and stands as the oldest building in Saskatoon on its original site. Part of the original temperance colony that preceded the city's founding, the residence is distinguished by its blend of Second Empire and pioneer architecture, particularly its Mansard roof. During the North-West Rebellion in 1885, the house was requisitioned as a field hospital to treat wounded soldiers before being returned to the Marr family when the hospital closed that same year. Though the family departed Saskatoon in 1889, their name remained attached to the property, which served residential purposes until the 1970s. Designated a municipal heritage property in 1982 and a National Historic Site of Canada in 2016, the residence is now owned by the City of Saskatoon.
