The Masonic Temple of El Dorado, Arkansas stands as a four-story masonry structure completed in 1923–24 on the west side of the courthouse square, designed by Little Rock architect Charles S. Watts. Rare among Arkansas buildings, it exemplifies Art Deco styling infused with Egyptian Revival elements—a fashion likely sparked by the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and subsequently included in the El Dorado Commercial Historic District in 2003, the temple represents a distinctive moment when archaeological sensation influenced architectural expression.
