The Marshal Residential District (Marszałkowska Dzielnica Mieszkaniowa, or MDM) is a mid-rise housing estate in Warsaw's South Downtown neighbourhood, built between 1950 and 1952 and designed by Stanisław Jankowski. Sited along Marshal Street between Constitution Square and Saviour Squares, the complex consists of large apartment buildings executed in neoclassical style while adhering to the principles of socialist realism. Now recognized as an immovable monument in Poland, the MDM Quarter exemplifies the architectural ambitions of post-war Warsaw's planned urban development.
