The Merchandise Mart is a commercial skyscraper in downtown Chicago, Illinois, at the junction of the Chicago River's branches. Designed in the Art Deco style by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White and opened in 1930, it was the world's largest building at the time, with 4 million square feet of floor space. Built by Marshall Field & Co., it centralizes Chicago's wholesale goods industry under a single roof.
