Merdeka Palace (Istana Merdeka) is a Neoclassical presidential palace on the north side of Merdeka Square in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. It is one of seven presidential palaces in Indonesia and once housed the governor-general of the Dutch East Indies, under the colonial name Paleis te Koningsplein. Renamed in 1949, it forms part of the 6.8-hectare Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex and served as the official residence of Indonesia's president.
