The Metropol stands at Nollendorfplatz in the Schöneberg district of Berlin, within the Tempelhof-Schöneberg borough. Built in the Art Nouveau style, it opened as a theatre with a concert hall above, and Albert Froelich is credited with its design. Its facade survived the Second World War, and the building is now a protected cultural heritage monument, long known as a discothèque and music club.
