The Metropolitan Cathedral in Iași, Romania, is the seat of the Romanian Orthodox Archbishop of Iași and Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bukovina, and the largest historic Orthodox church in the country. Begun in 1839 to designs by Alexandru Orăscu, its form was inspired by the late Italian Renaissance, particularly Trinità dei Monti in Rome, while Baroque elements dominate its interior and exterior decoration. It is dedicated to Saint Parascheva, the Presentation of Jesus and Saint George.
