The Mexican War Streets form a historic district in Pittsburgh's Central Northside, a densely built neighborhood of restored row houses, community gardens, and tree-lined streets named after battles and generals of the Mexican–American War. Originally developed as the "Buena Vista Tract" around the time of that conflict, the district features Renaissance Revival architecture and has evolved into a recognized gay village. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it preserves the streetscape and character of its nineteenth-century origins.
