This Qajar-era mansion in Tehran's District 11 began as the grand residence of Mohammad Taghi Khan Ehtesab al-Molk, a prominent Qajar court official who served as head of Tehran's municipal administration and as Iran's sovereign minister in Bern. Constructed in traditional materials—tile, plaster, brick, and stone—the house exemplifies Qajar architectural style. It later passed to his son Mohsen Moghadam, an archaeologist and professor at the University of Tehran, who lived there with his wife Selma Kouyoumjian, director of the National Museum of Iran's library. The couple transformed the mansion into a museum dedicated to preserving Iran's cultural heritage, installing their extensive collections—including carved stone pieces, tiles, textiles, glass works, pottery, historical documents, coins, paintings, and decorative objects such as hookahs and smoke pots—throughout the traditional rooms. Now known as the Moghadam Museum House of the University of Tehran, it remains a designated Iranian National Heritage property.
