The Abbey of St. Benedict on the Mountain, also called Norcia Abbey, is a Benedictine monastery just outside Norcia in southeastern Umbria, Italy. Its church is a minor basilica in the Gothic style and holds Italian national heritage status. Originally founded in the 10th century and closed by the Napoleonic Army, the community was refounded in 1998 by American monks and established as a priory the following year.
