The Monticello Utah Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Monticello, Utah, and the 53rd operating temple of the church. Its intent was announced by Gordon B. Hinckley on October 4, 1997, and it was the first temple in San Juan County and the first of a new generation of smaller, more compact temples designed for remote areas. It has a single spire topped by a statue of the angel Moroni.
