Montreal Castle, known in Arabic as Qal'at ash-Shawbak, stands on a rocky, conical mountain in the Edom mountains east of the Arabah Valley, beside the modern town of Shoubak in Jordan. The Crusaders built it in 1115, and the Mamluks later expanded it. It is listed as a Tentative World Heritage Site.
