The Nashville Tennessee Temple, the 84th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, stands in Franklin, Tennessee, about 20 miles southwest of central Nashville. Built in a simplified, contemporary design and clad in Imperial Danby white marble, it has a single spire topped by a statue of the angel Moroni. Announced in 1994 as the first temple in Tennessee, it was dedicated by James E. Faust on May 21, 2000.
