The National War Memorial stands on Buckle Street beside the Dominion Museum in Wellington, New Zealand's capital. Designed by Gummer and Ford in the Art Deco style, it was dedicated on Anzac Day, 25 April 1932, to the First World War and officially also to New Zealanders who died in later conflicts. Its Hall of Memories holds Rolls of Honour naming 30,108 war dead, around Lyndon Smith's bronze family-group statue. Heritage New Zealand registered it as a Category 1 Historic Place in 1990.
