The New York Life Insurance Building stands at Place d'Armes in Old Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Designed by Babb, Cook and Willard in the Romanesque Revival style and built of old red sandstone, it was erected in 1887–1889 and was the tallest commercial building in Montreal when completed. The owner later filled its ninth and tenth floors with what was then the country's largest legal library, offered to tenants as a gift.
