The Noorderkerk is a 17th-century Protestant church on the Noordermarkt square beside the Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam, built from 1620 to designs by Hendrick de Keyser. After his death in 1621, his son Pieter de Keyser oversaw completion. Unlike the basilica-plan Zuiderkerk and Westerkerk, it combines an octagonal floor plan with a symmetrical Greek cross of four equal arms, and large Tuscan pillars dominate its interior.
