The North Street Fire Station in Salem, Massachusetts, is a brick Queen Anne structure completed in 1881 to a design by local architect William Dennis and ranks among the oldest continuously active fire stations in the United States. Originally configured with a single bay for a steamer and rear stabling for horses, the station's upper level housed a wardroom that served as a venue for social and civic gatherings, including political meetings and elections. Its design echoed an earlier brick fire station built for ward 5 in 1880, which was destroyed in the Great Salem Fire of 1914. The North Street station remains the city's oldest active fire station and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
