Located at Lenin Square in central Novosibirsk, the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is a constructivist building completed in 1945 and now the largest theatre in Russia. The structure, finished in February 1944 with its inaugural performance held in May that year, surpasses even the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in size. Designated a federal cultural heritage site, it remains a major cultural institution in Siberia and a landmark of Soviet-era architectural ambition.
