Oak Alley Plantation is a Greek Revival plantation on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Vacherie, St. James Parish, Louisiana. It takes its name from the double row of southern live oaks, about 800 feet long, planted in the early 18th century, long before the present house was built, that runs between the house and the river. The property is a National Historic Landmark, recognized for its architecture, its landscaping, and the grafting of pecan trees performed there in 1846–47 by an enslaved gardener. It was first known as Bon Séjour.
