The Ömeriye Mosque stands in the south section of the walled city of Nicosia, Cyprus. Built in 1571 in the Gothic architectural style, it became one of the most important sites of Muslim worship in the non-Muslim section of the island and city following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. It remains functioning and open to both worshippers and visitors.
