Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral stands on the eastern side of the main park in Girardota, a municipality north of the Aburrá Valley in Antioquia, Colombia. Designed by the French architect Charles Émile Carré, known as Carlos Carré, this Neo-Romanesque building is made of solid brick left exposed. Begun as a parish church, it was raised to cathedral status in 1988, when Pope John Paul II created the Diocese of Girardota. It is also a pilgrimage site, housing the image of the Fallen Lord of Girardota.
