The Palace of Darius in Susa was a grand palace complex constructed at the ancient site of Susa during the reign of Darius I of the Achaemenid Empire, built contemporaneously with Persepolis. Employing Achaemenid architectural style and materials drawn from across the empire—cedar wood, brick, and stone—the complex represented a major undertaking of imperial construction and labor. The palace was severely damaged by fire at some point in antiquity and subsequently underwent partial restoration, though little of the original structure survives today. Now designated as an Iranian National Heritage site, the remains form part of the broader archaeological landscape of Susa.
