Palacio de Valle
Cienfuegos, Cuba
Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
The Palacio de Valle is a historic villa in Cienfuegos, Cuba, reminiscent of Moorish architecture. The Italian architect Alfredo Colli built it between 1913 and 1917. It was commissioned by the Cuban merchant Celestino Caces, who sold it to Asturian-born Acisclo del Valle Blanco, under whom construction was completed. Today it houses an upscale hotel and restaurant, and in 2000 it was declared a National Monument.
