The Palais Bourbon, in Paris's 7th arrondissement on the Left Bank of the Seine, is the meeting place of the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the French Parliament. Begun in 1722 for Louise Françoise de Bourbon, Duchess of Bourbon, it was completed in 1728 by a succession of architects. Its Neoclassical façade, added from 1806 by Bernard Poyet, mirrors that of the Église de la Madeleine across the Seine.
