The Palau Reial Major is a complex of historic buildings on Plaça del Rei in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, once a residence of the counts of Barcelona and later the kings of Aragon. It includes the Saló del Tinell, built under King Peter IV in 1359–1362, and the Palatine Chapel of St. Agatha, dating from 1302. Both are valued as masterpieces of Catalan Gothic architecture.
