Palazzo Venezia is an early Renaissance palace in central Rome, situated north of the Capitoline Hill and now owned by the Italian Republic, which houses the National Museum of the Palazzo Venezia. Built in its present form during the 1450s by Cardinal Pietro Barbo, who later reigned as Pope Paul II, it was for a time the residence and headquarters of Benito Mussolini, who addressed crowds from its balcony over the Piazza Venezia.
