The Parliament Building in Georgetown, Guyana, houses the National Assembly and stands on Brickdam, where the Court of Policy formerly sat. Designed by Joseph Hadfield in the Renaissance Revival style, it was completed on 21 February 1834. Its Parliamentary Chamber ceiling, designed by Cesar Castellani, was reconstructed between 2000 and 2005 after deterioration in the hot, humid climate.
