Pembroke Castle stands in the centre of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales, and was the original family seat of the Earldom of Pembroke. Arnulf of Montgomery fortified the site in 1093 during the Norman invasion of Wales. Richard I later gave it to William Marshal, who rebuilt it in stone, creating most of the structure that survives today. It is a Grade I listed building, a National Monument of Wales and a scheduled monument.
