The Pestsäule, or Plague Column, stands on Vienna's Graben street as a Baroque marble monument erected in 1687 by architect Paul Strudel in commemoration of the Great Plague epidemic of 1679. Dedicated to the Holy Trinity, this sculptural ensemble represents one of the most ambitious and innovative works of its era in Europe, earning recognition as one of Vienna's most prominent and recognizable artworks. The memorial combines architectural grandeur with spiritual devotion, exemplifying the Baroque style's characteristic drama and complexity.
