Petworth House is a late 17th-century Grade I listed country house in Petworth, West Sussex, England, built in 1688 by Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset, and altered in the 1870s to designs by Anthony Salvin. It contains intricate wood-carvings by Grinling Gibbons and an art collection that includes many works by J. M. W. Turner, assembled by George Wyndham, 3rd Earl of Egremont, among others. Its deer park was landscaped by Capability Brown.
