The Piyale Pasha Mosque is a 16th-century Ottoman congregational mosque in the Kasımpaşa neighborhood of Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan and completed in 1573. Also known as the Tersane Mosque—a reference to the nearby shipyard—the building exemplifies Ottoman architectural style of its era. Sinan's design reflects the sophisticated geometric and spatial principles characteristic of his work during the height of Ottoman architectural achievement.
