Point Pinos Lighthouse stands in Pacific Grove, California, on Monterey Bay. First lit on February 1, 1855, it is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States and remains an active U.S. Coast Guard aid to navigation. It was automated in 1975 and retains its original third order Fresnel lens. The lighthouse is surrounded by the Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
