The Pontiac Building stands at 542 South Dearborn Street in Chicago's Printer's Row neighborhood, a 174.2-meter skyscraper completed in 1891 by the architectural firm Holabird & Root. An exemplar of the Chicago School style, the building is constructed of brick and terracotta, materials characteristic of the era's approach to tall commercial structures. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it remains a significant testament to Chicago's late-nineteenth-century architectural development.
