Portchester Castle is a medieval fortress in Portchester, east of Fareham in Hampshire, England, built within the walls of the Roman Saxon Shore fort of Portus Adurni. Its keep was probably built in the late 11th century as a baronial castle, and it later served as a royal port for campaigns to France and as a favoured hunting lodge of King John. Today it is a Scheduled monument and Grade I listed building, managed by English Heritage and open to visitors.
