The Portuguese Castle, also known as the Fort of Our Lady of the Conception, is a red stone fortress on Hormuz Island in Hormozgan Province, Iran, and one of the last surviving monuments of Portuguese colonial rule in the Persian Gulf. Dating from 1507, it stands on a rocky promontory at the island's far north, where a moat once cut it off from the rest of the island. Most of its roof has collapsed, but much of its substantial lower outer walls remains intact.
