Located at 17, 1st Samotechny Lane in Moscow's Tverskoy District, the printing plant of *Ogonyok* magazine stands as El Lissitzky's sole realized work of architecture. Commissioned in 1932 by the magazine to serve as a print shop, this constructivist building represents a unique surviving example of Lissitzky's architectural vision. The structure gained formal recognition as a regional cultural heritage site following advocacy by the Russky Avangard foundation, with official designation secured in 2008. Severely damaged by fire in October of that year, the building subsequently underwent extensive alteration as part of planned integration into a hotel complex rather than faithful restoration, and was upgraded to regional landmark status in 2012.
