Located in Moscow's Khamovniki District, the Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin on Ostozhenka is a Russian Revival architectural landmark constructed in 1907–08 according to designs by Vladimir Adamovich and Vladimir Mayat. Built for the Moscow diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church, the structure stands on Turchaninov Lane and represents the ornamental vocabulary of early twentieth-century Russian ecclesiastical architecture. The building's active religious life was interrupted in 1932 when Soviet authorities closed it for worship, but it was restored to the Ostozhenka Old Belief community in 1992. Today it holds the status of a regional cultural heritage site in Russia.
