The Alajärvi Library, completed in 1991 and opened to the public in 1992, is a municipal public library in the Finnish town of Alajärvi. The building is based on an original design by renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto from 1966, realized posthumously by architects including Varpu Lönnström, Heikki Tarkka, and Elissa Aalto working in the Aalto design bureau after Aalto's death in 1976. The library forms part of a larger Aalto-designed complex of public and administrative buildings in the town, contributing to Alajärvi's distinction as home to eight structures designed by Aalto. The town's library tradition extends back to 1866, when the first public library was established as an adjunct to Alajärvi Church.
